futuregirl.com

Alice, aka futuregirl, is an all around craft artist, working mostly in yarn, felt and fabric. Her amazing crocheted handbags sell faster than she can make them, and she also offers instructions on how to create your own stuffie on her website. Alice has graciously donated this very crocheted wristlet bag and an octopus stuffie!

While this is the actual wristlet that will be given away, the octopus stuffie in an example. The donated octopus is in production now and we'll post it when it's finished!

Rave Knits

My favorite place to shop for yarn when I go back to North Carolina is Rave Knits in Concord. Not only is there room after room of yummy yarn, there's one whole room dedicated to needles and accessories, not to mention a place to hang out and knit with your friends. I'm so excited because Lenore, the owner extraordinaire of Rave Knits, has graciously agreed to donate this special accessory prize pack! Included are these adorable scissors, a pair of Lantern Moon Blond Wood knitting needles (US size 10, 6 mm), and these fantastic stitch markers created by independent artist Robin Borsos.

knitspot

Anne Hanson of knitspot is a knitting designer, and what a designer! Her designs have appeared in a number of publications (including the Autumn knitty out now!) and she offers gorgeous patterns on her website, including wraps, mitts, clothes for children and bags. I am truly honored that Anne has donated two PDF patterns, which will be the winner's choice!

Scout's Swag

Scout's Swag is where to go to find gorgeous handpainted yarn, spinning fiber, and the latest in knitting and crocheting notions and accessories, including Haiku bags, Soak fiber wash, clever stitch markers and the coolest sock blockers around! Scout herself has donated a twenty-five dollar gift certificate to the lucky winner of this prize drawing! The only difficulty will be deciding what to spend it on!

Wisdom of the Moon

Wendy Gay, the artist behind Wisdom of the Moon, is the creator of these unique necklaces. All the beads are hand formed, glazed and strung, and for a personal touch, you can add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil!

How the Prize Drawings Work
For each blanket created and postmarked on or before March 30, the person who made it will be eligible to be entered in the prize drawing (that means, if you make two blankets, your name goes in twice!), as well as those who make a monetary donation. There will be one drawing for each prize or group of prizes donated by each sponsor. Winners will be chosen by picking names out of a hat. The date of the prize drawing has yet to be determined but will take place sometime in the month of April 2008. I will contact winners and sponsors after the drawing, and it will be up to the winner to provide the sponsor with a mailing address and the sponsor's responsibility to ship it. While I have the utmost confidence that all of this will go according to plan, I hereby remove myself personally from any liability, whether it be an error in shipping or an Act of God that prevents the prize from being delivered. We're all grown ups here and in the case that something does go wrong, I'm sure we'll all handle it with clear heads, right?
